Owners of Authentic New York-style Pizza Restaurant Thank Clearwater Community for Support, First Year in Business

CLEARWATER, Fla.  – In celebration of its anniversary and to thank its extraordinary fan base, residents and guests are invited to Russo’s New York Pizzeria in Clearwater on Saturday November, 11 for a chance to win free pizza for a year. Guests who dine-in or carry out throughout the day can drop their name in a raffle for a chance to win one free large pizza every week for one year. Those planning to stop by for dinner can also expect wine specials and the introduction of several new menu items.

In addition to celebrating one year in business, the restaurant, owned and operated by Mike Daner and his family, is recognizing a milestone in a regular partnership the restaurant has with Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, which mentors and develops young men and women through several residential care facilities. The Daners have reached the $5000 mark in donations made through “spirit nights” hosted by the restaurant where a certain percentage of proceeds are donated to the organization.

“Russo’s has been a great addition to our Donor Family, raising awareness and funds in support of our mission,” said Wayne Witczak, director of development at Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches. “They have used their business to give back to their community through unconditional support. We look forward to future possibilities and the positive impact they will continue to make on our children and agency.”

A family-owned establishment, the restaurant features a brick oven along with an open-air kitchen as a focal point for the space, which seats 80 guests for lunch and dinner.

The Daners run the restaurant with their wives and have plans to open five more locations in the area. The traditional and inviting restaurant features a full menu of authentic New York-style pizza and Italian dishes. The restaurant blends the freshness of fine ingredients with the magic created around a handcrafted Italian meal.

“It’s amazing how quickly a year can fly by,” said Mike. “We’re thankful to the Clearwater community and will continue to show our gratitude. We’re very appreciative of our relationship with Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and our other local partnerships. They’ve supported us since day one and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate – come on by for a night of fun!”

Russo’s New York Pizzeria and its traditional Italian recipes trace their origins to a tight-knit family where the kitchen was the center of activity.
