RUSSO’S COAL-FIRED ITALIAN JOINS RESTAURANT LINE UP AT THE RIM

December 4, 2014

Houston-based Russo’s Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen will open up a new dining option at the Northwest  San Antonio mega-retailer  known as The Rim.

The restaurant will make its Alamo City debut in the spring of 2015.

Russo’s Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen is one of two brands under the larger banner of Russo’s Restaurants – the Kitchen being the firm’s upscale concept. The company is also the owner/franchisor behind Russo’s New York Pizzeria.

Both concepts are the brainchild of chef, founder and CEO Anthony Russo, who honed his skills for Italian fare in his parent’s Italian restaurant.

Of the new Kitchen in San Antonio, Russo pointed out that “there is nothing quite like Russo’s in San Antonio.” As the city grows, its diners are seeking out newer, fresher concepts, said Russo, who added that his company can’t wait to serve the kind of food local consumers will crave.

The Russo’s deal helps to cap off what has been  a busy year for The Rim  – including for its developer, Atlanta-based Thomas Enterprises Inc.

Thomas Enterprises kicked off 2014 with Phase 5 of the Rim –  a $57 million project  that added another 250,000 square feet to the center.

While this phase includes some more familiar names, it will also boast several newcomers – including Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill; Bowl & Barrel; and Hemispheres, a World of Fine Furnishings.

Russo’s Restaurants currently boasts 36 locations – a mix of national and international stores.
