If you come from where I come from, pizza is not a foodstuff to be taken lightly. So when I figured out I had to stop eating gluten (essentially, anything made with wheat, barley or rye) the one thing I truly missed was real pizza.

Fortunately, Houston's own Chef Anthony Russo of Russo's New York Pizzerias and Russo's Coal-Fired restaurants, has come up with not only a truly tasty and not at all cardboard-y gluten-free pizza. It's available not only in his restaurants but also in supermarkets. I wrote my column about it today.

So irrespective of gluten content, what is your favorite Houston-area pizza, and if you'd care to share, why?
