HOUSTON — Chef Anthony Russo’s unveiled at PLMA Italian-style meat lovers and prosciutto and fig handmade frozen pizzas with both gluten-free and New York–style crusts. These two new varieties bring the company’s portfolio to a total of eight.

Each pizza from the Chef Anthony Russo’s line is made with premium mozzarella cheese, and the sauce is made with fresh-packed tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil from the Russo family olive grove in Sicily, the company said.

“After finding success by providing guests the only New York–style gluten-free frozen pizzas on the market with six delectable options, we decided to expand our flavors ad crusts,” said Chef Russo, founder and CEO of Russo’s Restaurants and the creative mastermind for the retail line that is currently sold in more than 3,000 U.S. grocery stores. “Our pizzas use the highest quality ingredients and are handmade, offering a healthy alternative to consumers.”

Each pizza, he added, is handcrafted with fresh, all-natural ingredients, no preservatives, nitrates, rSBT and zero pre-frozen toppings. The new artisanal prosciutto and fig pizza is topped with Sicilian olive oil, fresh arugula, sliced prosciutto and fig preserves, while the Italian-style meat lovers pizza is made with Italian sausage, spiced pepperoni, beef sausage, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese and full-flavored pizza sauce.

Chef Anthony Russo’s retail products are available at more than 3,000 retailers nationwide, including private label distribution in Wegmans, Topco, Shoprite and Delhaize.
